Wolfgang A. Klebel, PhD, was born in Vienna, Austria, shortly before the outbreak of World War II. From an early age, his path was shaped by significant historical events and a deep connection to his cultural roots.
Pursuing a calling in the Catholic faith, Dr. Klebel became a Catholic priest. He dedicated himself to rigorous theological and philosophical studies at some of the most prestigious Catholic universities in Rome and Austria, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
Although Dr. Klebel was committed to the priesthood, he ultimately chose to pursue a different path. Upon relocating to California, United States, he established himself as a psychologist with expertise in treating mental health conditions, notably posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and Dissociative Identity Disorder. Dr. Klebel was employed at the Women’s State Prison, where he provided specialized psychological services.
Dr. Klebel’s enduring fascination with the intricacies of human nature finds a unique outlet in his study of the human heart. Integrating modern neuroradiology into his work, he investigates the concept of the heart’s “little brain.” This idea posits that the heart possesses its own capacity for perception, memory, and decision-making, independent of the brain. Through this lens, Dr. Klebel seeks to understand the role of the heart in shaping human experience and behavior.
His exploration of these themes culminated in the book “The Human Heart One and Undivided.” In this work, Dr. Klebel incorporates perspectives from the Bahá’í Faith, blending scientific insights with spiritual understanding to offer a holistic view of the heart’s significance in human life.
